Thousands of students at government schools in Andhra Pradesh sit in overcrowded classrooms without desks, fans, or books. We're here to change that — starting with ZPHS Nagayalanka.
ZPHS Nagayalanka is a Zilla Parishad High School in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. It serves over 500 students in Grades 6 through 10 — children from farming families, fishing communities, and daily-wage workers in and around the coastal town of Nagayalanka.
Despite the tireless dedication of its teachers, the school lacks the basic infrastructure that most of us take for granted. Students sit on concrete floors because there aren't enough desks. Classrooms have no fans — and in Andhra's 40°C+ summers, the heat makes it nearly impossible to focus. Many students share torn, outdated textbooks, and the school has zero computers for digital learning. The walls are crumbling, paint is peeling, and parts of the building need urgent repairs.
Yet every morning, these students show up. They walk kilometers to get here. They want to learn. All they need is for someone to give them the tools.
Most students sit on the floor. We need 100+ desks and chairs for proper seating in every classroom.
Temperatures cross 40°C in summer. Ceiling fans and ventilation are urgently needed.
Students share torn books or go without. Every child deserves their own full set of textbooks.
Zero computers in the entire school. Students have never used digital tools for learning.
Crumbling walls, broken windows, damaged flooring — the building needs structural repairs.
After-school tutoring and mentorship to help students prepare for board exams and competitive tests.
Nagayalanka is just the beginning. Andhra Pradesh has thousands of government schools facing the same challenges. Our data covers 2,605 ZPHS schools across all 13 districts — and we plan to expand our reach as we grow.
Support Telugu Students connects generous donors with the schools that need them most. We believe no child's future should be determined by the condition of their classroom. Our goal is to bring visibility to these schools, make it easy for anyone to contribute, and ensure every rupee reaches the students.
This project started when a 7th-grade student from the U.S. discovered that thousands of government schools in Andhra Pradesh lack basic necessities. What began as a research project became a mission — to prove that even one person, no matter their age, can spark real change.

Founder & Project Lead · Grade 7 Student
Nagayalanka has been important to my family for decades, as many of my relatives have received their day one of education here. Although I have never lived there, whenever I visited Nagayalanka and saw the condition of their education, it was so different from the schools I'd been to. I just knew I could make it better so these kids would be able to have an even brighter future. With the help of my family, team, and you, we can introduce better schooling and learning resources for all of Andhra Pradesh.
We're starting with one school — ZPHS Nagayalanka — to prove the model works. But our vision doesn't stop here. There are 2,605 ZPHS schools across Andhra Pradesh, and once we create real impact at Nagayalanka, we plan to branch out and bring the same support to more schools across the state. Every big movement starts small. This is ours.
Right now, students sit on the floor. Be the one who gives a child their first proper desk and chair.
Be the FirstMany students share torn textbooks — or have none at all. Fund the first complete set of books for a student.

Support Telugu Students was founded by Ishika Kolli, a Grade 7 student with deep family ties to Nagayalanka. This is a student-led initiative supported by family and community volunteers. We work directly with the school administration at ZPHS Nagayalanka to identify needs and deliver resources.
Transparency is one of our core values. We will share before-and-after photos, purchase receipts, and regular progress updates on our Milaap campaign page. Milaap itself tracks and verifies how funds are used. You'll always know exactly where your money went.
Absolutely! ZPHS Nagayalanka is located in Nagayalanka town, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh — about 90 km from Vijayawada. If you'd like to visit the school, see the conditions firsthand, or meet the students, please contact us and we'll help coordinate a visit.
That's the long-term vision! We're starting with ZPHS Nagayalanka to build a model that works — prove the impact, document the process, and create a playbook. Once successful, we plan to expand to more ZPHS schools across all 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. We've already mapped 2,605 ZPHS schools statewide.
Yes, absolutely! If you know of a ZPHS or other government school in Andhra Pradesh that needs help, we'd love to hear about it. Email us at supporttelugustudents@gmail.com with the school name, location, and what they need most. As we grow beyond Nagayalanka, community recommendations will help us decide where to expand next.
